My approach...

My approach is based on the teachings of Functional Medicine which build on two foundational truths:

You are unique

Your physiology , the way your body works, and the symptoms you may be experiencing, are the the results of a myriad of factors which are unique to you.        
You are an individual with your own unique genetic code which is influenced by your history, environment, nutrition and lifestyle choices.

There are many root causes of ill health

My approach uses functional nutrition and lifestyle analysis to detemine the root causes which might include possible nutrient imbalances affecting your body systems.  Functional nutition determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of symptoms for each individual.

 No single pill or protocol will help you to address each root cause.  Identifying the root causes and 'what's going on in there', affecting your body systems is the first step on the journey to feeling and looking really well.

How I can help you...

I take time to really listen to all aspects of your story, to ensure that you feel heard.  I gather this information through an in-depth, comprehensive assessment so that I can understand your health symptoms, food choices and lifestyle factors in order to identify any triggers and root causes in your past or present life.  In addition, depending on your symptoms I may recommend functional laboratory testing to enhance the investigation.

Following analysis of all the information gathered, I provide a report of my findings and together we create a bespoke nutrition & lifestyle plan that feels right to you, with specific, realistic and achievable steps for you to start on your journey.  

 

Along the way, we will meet to review your progress and needs as they evolve and make adjustments to your plan as necessary to keep you moving forward towards your goals.

My programmes enable us to work together over a period of 12 weeks with different options for frequency of contact and level of support, tailored according to your individual needs and preferences.   Working together this way allows us to really get to know each other, time for me to explain the science behind my nutrition & lifestyle recommendations, and time for you to make the changes necessary to move your health and well-being forward so that you can really see and feel a difference.

 Working at a pace to suit you, I will provide counselling in order to help you identify beliefs and behaviours that may have hindered you in the past and health coaching to motivate and support you and hold you to account.  

 

I will be with you every step of the way!   This means partnering with you and any other providers on your healthcare team that understand the need for a collaborative approach.
